ABOUT
BASHPHELT BIO
Bashphelt formed in Barnoldswick, Lancashire, about five and half years ago. Thom, Baz and Giz started off the band by covering a long list of songs by artists like Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, The Police, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and many others. After about twenty gigs, in August 2000 we entered a battle of the bands competition for the North West. We won the competition, knocking out Rich’s band in the second round, before asking him to join us. Once Rich agreed to join we concentrated on writing original songs, recording a twelve track album in 2001 whilst known as Inflatable Love Sheep (ILS). We gigged all around the North West to promote the album including the Lake District, North Yorkshire and mainly Manchester. We headlined the 2BR radio stage at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, Lancashire, in front of a 2,500 plus audience whilst being aired live. Despite a couple of breaks due to University and travelling, we have stayed and progressed together. As we’ve grown our musical approach has matured as well, so a change of name seemed obvious, with Bashphelt sounding good. After recently winning our second battle of the bands in the North West we are looking to play more frequently in and around London, and hopefully, getting signed. Have a look on www.44roughcuts, Its a quality new site dedicated to unsigned bands in the north west. Have a look at the bashphelt page, where you can download our songs FOR FREE!!.
