Hi,
We're looking for a new bassist to join our female fronted five-piece covers band.
We are all based in South East London and Kent and rehearse at the Goldie Leigh studios in Abbey Wood.
We've been together for over 5 years (although our line up has changed a couple of times) and we play a really good mix of classic rock, a bit of blues, a bit of 80's and 90's, a few more recent hits and a couple of really left-field numbers. We like to put our own stamp on things and be a bit different but Classic Rock is our mainstay.
We're ideally looking for someone who is based locally and has own equipment and transport. Someone with an eclectic taste in music and a soft spot for rhythm and blues would fit in very well!
We've recently got a fantastic new singer in and are adding new songs to our set so it's a perfect time to join us before we start gigging again.
We'd describe ourselves as great amateurs with a mix of gigging experience and a broad taste in music. Age wise, we're all in the mid-20's to mid-30's bracket.
We're very much in this for the love of good music rather than the money. We all have jobs so we're not trying to make a living from this, just a profit. We've become good friends in the process and are looking forward to welcoming someone else into the group.
That said, we are very professional, rehearse weekly to make sure we're completely polished and look to gig every couple of weeks - at least once a month - once we've polished the new set. We mainly gig in pubs and social clubs or the odd party (mates rates for family and friends!) Our ambition would be to get a regular slot at a popular venue - possibly more central.
We rehearse every Tuesday from 19:00 - 23:00 at the Goldie Leigh studios in Abbey Wood, SE London/Kent. Postcode is: SE2 0AY. It costs around £10 each to do this. They hire amps etc at additional cost in case this makes it easier.
We're holding auditions at our normal rehearsing time all through March - usually splitting the session in two to get through as many people as we can. We may extend into early April but would like to get up and running again soon after.
