When I was growing up, through highschool and afterwards, I played my tenor sax with a Big Band and I absolutely loved it. When to study music at university but, at the time, there was a rule that if you planned on being a teacher, you must take classical, not jazz. So I had to completely change the way I played. After university I have hardly touched my sax; it ruined my love for the instrument. But now, no one is confining me to any one genre, and I am free to swing again! I am hoping to gain my love of the sax back by joining a big band. I also love to sing.
