ABOUT

I grew up around music as I went to church and therefore, gospel, Christian music with more specifically Black artists had a large influence on my music and my taste. Through Chuch, I developed my voice so started to sound more a blues, jazz and R'n'B sound so I have good vocal agility, can belt, have good diction, being able to harmonise and sing and recognise different keys with ease and work in a group setting as I sang in a choir. In addition, from a young age, I have had singing lessons so I could gain more styles to sing and increase my stylistic range. These lessons have taught me to have an operatic voice, musical theatre voice and 'classical' voice and properly control my voice. Although there is still more I can learn, I am a heavily skilled singer, musician and artist, who can contribute a lot due to my expertise.

Influences

My voice typically can sound like Blues, Jazz, R'n'B or Pop depending on what songs I sing. My music influences are Aretha Franklin, Cynthia Ervo, Jessie J, Adele, Jennifer Hudson and mainly singing, who are known for having voices that are soulful and are known to be powerful and emotional inducing. From childhood, I went to church and therefore, gospel singers have also had an impact on my music taste and voice. The combination of Gospel, R'n'B, Blues, Jazz and Pop has become a mixture in which I've been able to pick the best and significant parts of each genre to develop my voice in the best it can be.
