The best way to describe the music I'm looking at creating with you would be to say Yann Tierson's 'Amelie' soundtrack crossed with Phillip glass, Eianaudi and with elements of Mogwai and Balmorhea. I am looking for a bass player to come in and join the fun!!
What I am trying to achieve is a collective of musicians who are all pulling in the same direction musically as oppose to it being an ensemble where the 'composer' writes the parts and directs the whole performance.
Essentially the idea is to take minimalist piano music and work it with powerful and driven drums or a stereotypical drum set up rather than the orchestral kind. There are bands dotted around that have elements of what we are doing but, so far I have found no one that does exactly what we are aiming to do (not to say there is no one) which is why I am excited to be the first.
