ABOUT

I play guitar mainly and have done for 20 years.

I’m currently the drummer and songwriter in a psychedelic metal band - however I’m still learning drums and have a little ways to go with that project. I can carry a song on the kit, but I’m still learning rhythms and rudiments and time sigs and all that good stuff.

Looking to jam on my guitar with a more established act in the meantime while I’m learning drums and getting my band off the ground.

Have lots of songwriting and producing knowledge as I’ve been making my own music for 10+ years in ableton!

I have broad taste and can write for lots of different genres. Atm I’d say I’m really interested in doing some kind of avante garde metal type thing. But I’m really open tbh as I mostly wanna jam and have fun.

Message me and I can link you some demos that I’ve made to get the vibe if you’re interested???

Also I love to jam and improvise! But can just as easily sit and really think over a composition as well. Overall I’m just really game for anything.

Influences

Dark, experimental and psychedelic stuff mostly. Here’s some random artists I’m obsessed with atm:

Imperial Triumphant, Cloud Rat, betcover!!, Ashenspire, Old Man Gloom (early stuff), Moin, Sprain, Horse Lords, Mdou Moctar, Neptunian Maximalism, Pharoah Sanders, Chat Pile

Here’s some stuff that is personally iconic and timeless to me:

Dopesmoker by Sleep, TPAB by Kendrick (yeah I’m one of those guys), Spiderland by Slint, Journey to Satchinanda by Alice Coltrane, Loveless by MBV, Jane Doe by Converge, Freedom Flight by Shuggie Otis, Advaitic Songs by Om, anything by King Crimson, The fu*king Beatles.

Guilty pleasures and stuff I love shocking people with:

Steely Dan are the man (men?), Lamb of God used to be a good band, Limp Bizkit have a couple decent songs, and I unironically like Tool - I think the drums, bass and songwriting is sick. Sure the lyrics are dumb but I forgive a lot of death metal artists for the same sh*t!

EQUIPMENT

I play a Sterling Cutlass CT50 super strat with 38w Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister tube amp w/ 2x12 Orange Cab with V30 Celestion speakers. Amp is crazy versatile so I can get mooooost tones that I can dream of.

I also have an Orange Micro Terror 20w amp that is a great backup as it is so small it fits in a tote bag!

Also have a Taylor GSmini for my acoustic needs.

I also have an Ibanez Talman PJ bass but no bass amp for it sadly.

Also have a MacBook, a Scarlet 2i2, midi controller and a copy of Ableton Live so can pump out demos pretty quickly. I’m pretty decent at mixing/mastering.
