ABOUT

We are the St Ives Methodist Church Worship Band and we are in need of a new bassist. We play approx. two Sundays a month (9:00am - 12:00am) at St Ives Methodist Church and practice on Saturdays (4pm-6pm) about twice a month too. We are also exploring playing on Friday evenings (approx. 7pm - 8.30pm) a few times a year with a focus on contemporary worship music.

We work closely with our minister and church family to provide a balance of contemporary worship music (Hillsong, Elevation, Maverick City etc.) and traditional music for the Sunday services. This often includes an action song for the younger members of our congregation so, on a Sunday, we can be playing a real mix of Hillsong, Rend Collective, Phil Wickham and then some traditional hymns too such as, In Christ Alone or The Lord's My Shepherd etc.

On our new Friday evening services which we are trialling (our first one is Friday 9th June 7:00pm - 8:30pm) we are focusing on a contemporary style worship with almost exclusively contemporary worship songs. The set list for this is as follows currently: The Blessing, Oceans, This I Believe (The Creed), You are Holy (as for me and my house), Graves into Gardens, Waymaker, Majesty (Here I am), Living Hope.

We are an utter mix of ages and backgrounds as we aim to welcome all to worship so you will find our age ranges from 14 - 60+. The band varies from week to week, but usually consists of drums, guitars and keys with vocalists. We regulary feature saxaphones, flute, violin and an additional guitarist too so when we all turn up we are a large group. But with all that said, we need God to bless us with a regular bass player to comeplte the sound.

We work mostly from chords and lyrics but are blessed to have some experienced musicians with us who can happily source, transpose and provide shete music if needed. We are a flexible and joyful bunch and are usually learning a new song whislt trying to prepare for services and also thinking about the next steps for our ministry here at St Ives Methodist Church.

If you feel called to come join us in our work please get in touch; we'd love to hear from you. We pride ourselves on our welcoming nature and hospitality so can assure you of a warm welcome
