We are Dakesis, a progressive-power metal band based in Birmingham, currently seeking a MALE keyboard player with vocal ability.
We have built a solid reputation with a brilliantly received E.P and debut album under our belts, and material for a second album underway.
Past highlights include playing Bloodstock Open Air festival and support slots with Edguy, Thunderstone, Pagan’s Mind and Blaze Bayley as well as numerous UK headline tours.
We have our own practice space so there’s no lock-up/practice fees, but you would be expected to make your own way to South Birmingham for practice. We practice regularly, generally two times a week so we need you to be able to commit, though we can be flexible with days and generally arrange them as and when we are free.
We are currently looking for a full time keyboard player/vocalist with the following qualities:
• Committed, reliable and professional
• High standard of playing (including lead keyboard parts) and singing. We have a singing teacher within our ranks, so if you are a great player with the potential to be a great vocalist we can offer assistance!
• Ability to provide both lead and backing vocals as well as harmonies
• No other bands/major commitments
• Own professional standard gear is preferred, however we have a KORG Triton and a Roland AX Synth keytar at your disposal if necessary
• Must be available for weekly/bi-weekly rehearsals and meetings and frequent gigging (and be available for UK and European tours)
• A good sense of humour and personable nature. We spend a lot of time together and are the very best of friends. We want someone who we can socialize with as well as have a good professional relationship.
• Similar musical interests and influences
• Own transport is preferable but not essential
• Able to play to a click
We are capable of continuing on in our current state, so won’t rush you into playing gigs, but want someone who is willing and able to learn the material quickly. We’re a very friendly, supportive band who are willing to help as much as we can, you won’t just be dumped a load of tab and told to go away and learn!
