Hi all,
We're a drummer and bass player from Rotherham and we're looking to put a band together. Simples so far.
This is going to be a ROCK COVERS band so we're looking for lead and rhythm guitars and a singer. Backing vocals a bonus. Influences Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, FNM, etc, etc, etc. These are bands from the early 90s so if you're of our age and were in to this kind of stuff as a teenager, this is the gig for you. We can look forward to putting some decent stuff together I hope.
The idea is to play well known stuff but not necessarily the same set as every other band on the circuit. I think if we can get it right then we may be on to something. We're looking to create a fairly high energy, guitar driven sound that's got something for everyone.
We're in our late 40s and ideally looking to rehearse once, maybe twice a week initially (we'll see) and perhaps a gig every month through the summer - maybe more in winter when there's nothing else better to do on an evening. The idea is to play fewer, more quality shows rather than taking anything and playing in front of three men and a dog (we've all been there).
We have years of experience, live, studio, etc so we're looking for decent standard lads to play with but most importantly - you need to be pretty easy going, like to put the work in and like a good laugh. I'd imagine you'd have your own gear and be prepared to rehearse around the Rotherham/Sheffield area.
We have plenty of contacts for decent pub gigs and festivals so although we'll never be rock stars, I'm sure we can get some pretty decent shows. We're putting together a good quality PA and lights and will pick up a band van at some point in the future so we'll be ready to hit the road once ready.
