I am a retired 59-year old man with a passion for music and an ever-evolving guitar journey. Currently, lead-guitarist in a 20+ year 'casual' band with friends who cannot invest the time in a more committed rehearsal schedule and more regular gigging. Aspiring to create a new, classic 4/5-piece rock band of like-minded, similar-aged local musicians in the Welwyn / Hatfield / St Albans / Stevenage area. Idea is to be able to rehearse every couple of weeks, learn covers together, write own material and gig potentially 4-6 times per year. A level of reliable time-commitment is required to reach a decent performance standard and keep up momentum. Compatibility is, of course, important to making this fun and enjoyable for all.

Influences
The Beatles were my early influence, in particular the amazing songwriting and vocal harmonies. Early/mid-teens led me to a harder rock including some punk stuff (Sex Pistols, New Model Army, The Cure...), plus AD/DC, Def Lep, UFO, Scorpions, Whitesnake and others. In later teens started to enjoy broader rock genres (Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Marillion...). Of course the rise of guitar bands in the 90s led to a string of favorites: Oasis, The Strokes, Stereophonics, Chillies, Killers, Greenday, Stone Roses, Foo Fighters, Manics, OCS, Razorlight, Reef, The Rifles, Radiohead, Snow Patrol, Feeder....the list goes on!
