ABOUT
Cask Corner, Doncasters Premier Live Music Venue is a quirky place with an assortment of weird and wonderful things on the walls, floor and ceiling (all contributed by customers), a coffin in the window, a cyclist ironing on the ceiling not to mention Clive the resident mannequin!
We have 9 real ales, 4 ciders, over 50 bottled beers from around the world, and several lagers and other ciders. We don’t sell the same products as the other bars either (there’s not an alcopop in sight). We also offer the following to our customers; board games dotted around the bar and a packed bookcase upstairs in the ‘Bordello” themed Cocktail Bar, a large sunny outdoor smoking area which we regularly enter into the Doncaster in Bloom awards, fantastic Live bands every Friday and Saturday, Live Music on Tuesday at “Live & Gigging” (which is for up an coming bands), Open Mic every Wednesday night, Quiz night every Thursday night, The Sunday Corner Jam Session and regular Comedy nights and once a year a Burlesque Chair Dance evening!
There’s something for everyone from 18 or 80. Everybody is guaranteed a warm welcome, customers can also bring their own food in as long as they buy a drink or they can purchase one of Doncasters finest Yorkshire Pie House pies from us. We also offer free pop to designated drivers!
We sponsor a local football team who are top of the league and wear the name Cask Corner with pride.
We support local businesses too, we have posters advertising Yorkshire Pie House and orders can be placed at the bar and they deliver to food to the customers so they don’t even have to leave if they’re peckish.
We have craft markets supporting local crafters towards Christmas and are planning on making these a more regular feature.
We have book signings organised in conjunction with Doncaster Library and Waterstones which have been very well received, especially the one most recent one featuring a Doncaster author.
We try to ensure all our events fit in with those in the Doncaster Community; we have many local bands play during Doncasters music festival MAPFest and had some great events for Doncasters first Steampunk weekend with a Music Hall Variety Show featuring lots of local talent which we are going to do every two months now. This will be followed later in the year by Cask Fest which fits in with the Romans In Doncaster (last year we had a bar full of Roman Soldiers in full uniform!)
Also we care about our customers and there is a really friendly happy atmosphere the minute you walk through the door.
Regular updates and conversations on www./caskcornerdivebar and Twitter @Caskcornerbar keeps the customer included in everything and also lets them have a say and know they’ll get a reply. Getting to know the customers is imperative to the Cask Corner team.
Including some form of entertainment in the evenings gives people something to come out for and we have got something on every evening except Sunday (but we do have ideas in the pipeline), plus not charging an entry fee means that they are more likely to come, who doesn’t like something for nothing. Our ‘Meet the Brewer’ evenings go down well too when the customers get a chance to rate three brewers and sample their products and learn about how they started out and their brewing process (we also organise regular Brewery trips to the various breweries that we buy from).
