Carol Mae Whittick writes honest, beautiful and enduring music. Dance, Pop, Reggae or Soul, the genre is irrelevant but the objective is the same. Good music and strong expressive lyrics.?I feel that I have now finally found ?My Sound?. It?s Soul, with a swirl of Jazz and that essential sprinkling of Pop.?

The forthcoming collection of songs chronicle a steep learning curve in Carol?s life. ?They are a peek into my own personal journals. These are the answers that I arrived at after the big, ?What is it all about?? and ?Why are we here?? questioning that I presume we all go through. My conclusions? Life is about loving and daring to be yourself. When you find the courage to go for it, magic happens!?

Introduced to music through the church as a child, the formal education began at 6 years old. The songwriting started soon after. ?I began writing out of pure curiosity. I would go to lessons and play all this music written by dead folks but then I would listen to the Top 40 religiously (on a Sunday as well!) and the people who wrote the music were still alive. I needed to know if I could do it too.?
Inspiration and instruction came from the masters of song. Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton, Michael Jackson, Carole King, Bacharach & David, Motown, The Beatles? Anybody who could marry melody and lyric to perfection. ?I am in awe of anybody who writes songs that becomes integral to people?s lives and soundrack their important moments. Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, R Kelly and then the modern Pop writers, ABBA, Max Martin and Stock, Aitken & Waterman people who probably only get their props in hindsight?.

In the following years Carol worked in a variety of music projects. As a singer and writer on Dance projects with producer Jeremy Sylvester and as a keyboard player in bands and artists whose styles ranged from Pop to Soul. Working also as a backing singer then extended the list of venues played from the London circuit to stages in Norway, Sweden, Ukraine and Poland.
As a writer Carol?s work continued to be used for Theatre and commercial video and also extended internationally to Scandinavia, Romania and Jamaica.

What is happening now?
?I?m still writing and recording the album. I think I have the songs and then I write another and the game changes again. I?m not complaining, though.?
There are also scheduled releases of CMW penned songs from international artists and a short film soundtrack to complete.
?I also intend to put the show on the road. A batch of great songs with a talented, amazing band. Getting it out there and having fun and being inspired to do better along the way. I know I have some great people to meet. I am really excited!?
