ABOUT

Cairde (the Gaelic word for friends) is a popular Irish Band from Birmingham formed in 2004 by a group of traditional music enthusiasts.
Established by Daniel O’Connor (Piano), Michael Green (Tenor Banjo), John Moran (Fiddle) and Kevin Maher (Button Accordion) as a traditional band for weddings and Ceili’s, Cairde has quickly evolved in England as a regular performer for the Aintree Grand National, Guinness, Birmingham St Patrick’s Day festival and The National Trust. In 2007 Cairde welcomed Eddie Doherty on the drums.

Cairde is not like any other Irish group. Not only do they provide world class traditional music with traditional dances from all around the British Isles, but they also enjoy sharing an extensive library of new and old contemporary Irish songs and ballads. So whether you feel like listening to some traditional jigs and reels, participating in some traditional dancing, or having a jive on the dance floor; there is something for everybody.
