Influences
All the Motown and Stax drummers, all the great pocket disco funk drummers, all of James Browns guys, Simon Kirke Free - all about the spaces. Charlie Watts - he can swing in a rock n roll band, Tommy Igoe - great teacher, the loose southern New Orleans guys - Richie Hayward Little Feat. Jazzers- Joe Morello and the like. Any drummer who plays for the song not themselves and listens to the band and importantly the vocalist. We are all always still learning - you can pick tips up off Joe Bloggs in a back street bar.
