Getting back to playing after a bit of a break. Have played most styles, started in punk, moved into rock, ska/reggae/funk, country, pop, etc.
Looking for a band that are doing their own thing, or putting a new twist in covers, taking existing songs across styles etc. Basically anything that's not quite standard.
If your set list includes sweet home alabama, honkey tonk woman, other such pub classics, and they are played like the originals - I'm probably not the bassist for you!
While playing bass mostly I'm also moving across onto double bass. Play rhythm guitar too, and also have a guitar midi setup for adding extra backing, or keyboard parts without the need for a keyboard player.
Also worth noting, my Mrs is currently training as sound engineer, and she's working with my old PA.
If your interested you can get hold of me at big_mat_b at h o t m a I l dot com or oh seven nine eight 3 nine double seven three five eight.

Anything a bit different - currently listening to a lot of country crossover - Modern country rock/rap, hick-hop, anything with an interesting mix of styles that offers some variety to the ears.
Previously a big 80's rock fan, country, ska. Not a pop "fan" but played it for the cash.
