Singer, songwriter and poet Ben River was brought up in Ladbroke Grove West London, and has been on a weird and wonderful musical journey ever since. Some of the highlights of this journey so far, are featured soundtracks on ‘Monkey Dust’ broadcast on BBC2/BBC3 TV, his music being distributed by Universal Music, supporting BBC award winning folk act ‘Megson’ as well as being Awarded The Southbank Centre Poetry Library’s Poet of the week (2014).

Ben River’s songs fuse contemporary alternative folk and classic songwriting with a unique sense of lyricism, producing a rhythmic yet melodic, emotional yet edgy sound that captivates audiences. With his 7-piece band he will headline at 229 having previously performed at some of the best live music venues in London: 02 Academy, Ronnie Scotts, Islington Assembly Hall, and the V&A Museum as well as performing live at Paris Pop-In and Brussels Champetre.

Ben River’s radio output includes stations in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal & Mexico.
