Hi, I'm Ben. I started teaching myself guitar at the age of 13 and got singing tuition when I was 17 (got my grade 8, however I do need to train up again). I'm looking for a drummer, a bassist, a keyboardist, other guitarists, other vocalists and maybe even some musicians who play instruments less common in rock/metal as long as it works.
I've been in many bands over the years but never seemed to find one where the members loved to write and experiment, everything was very much pop punk/indie and mostly covers. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some things from those styles and I think covers are a great way for musicians to get to know each other better and are even good to break the ice with a new audience, it's just when your set is 75% 3 minute long covers it's a different matter haha.
So basically, I'm looking for people who love to play their instruments and have good musical understanding. I'm not too fussy about genre either.

Influences
My biggest influences tend to be from progressive metal, rock and heavy metal bands like Dream Theater, A7X, Opeth, Trivium, Metallica, Megadeth, The Mars Volta, Mastodon, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Steve Vai, Porcupine Tree, Alter Bridge and many more.
I listen to some acoustic stuff and jazz too like Andy McKee, Kyle Eastwood and Django Reinhardt.
Also, I figured I may as well admit some guilty pleasures now before you agree to play music in the same room as me, I have a soft spot for Whitesnake (actually anything cheesy from the 80's) and Nickelback. I know. I'm sorry.
