Ben has been playing the saxophone for over 15 years. In that time he has assimilated a modern sound that maintains his soulful character no matter what situation it arises within. Ben brings his modern vibe to Off The Wall's unique sound and has gained plaudits ranging from UK saxophone legend Snake Davis (M People, Will Young and many more) to the BBC. Ben cites his main sax influences as the aforementioned Snake, Kirk Whalum, Kenny G and Grover Washington Jr. Alongside his work with Off The Wall Ben maintains a busy schedule of live work, studio sessions and tuition - all of which are set to continue in the future.

Influences

I often get asked who my biggest influences are as a player. Well, here you go. One of the first live gigs that I went to see was saxophonist for the stars, Snake Davis. Since then I have learnt a lot from his soulful, lyrical sound, not to mention his superb technique and vibrant style of playing. Other players that I have learnt an immense amount from include Jr. Walker, Kirk Whalum, the rock 'n' roll king of sax, King Curtis and the beautiful ballads of Kenny G, all of which have contributed in some way to the sound and style that I call 'my own'.
