Hi! I'm Annie.
I play piano, flute, and can attempt to play most chords on the guitar and ukulele.
I've played piano since I was 8 and was classically trained, so reading music is definitely my comfort zone! I'm trying to get away from relying on sheet music all the time though, and get better at playing by ear.
I've played the flute since I was 11 and over the last couple of years I've had the chance to play in two very amateur (but brilliant!) bands in Germany.
The first was an Irish folk band where I played flute. We played songs by bands like Flogging Molly or some traditional Irish classics and also had a go at writing some of our own music, rehearsed every week and played a few open mic nights together. I loved the social aspect of getting together and trying out new things. Sadly, a few of our band members moved away at the same time, so it eventually fizzled out.
After that I joined a soul/rock covers band where I played keyboard, which was a completely different style but just as much fun.
Now that I'm back in the UK, I'd love to find a band that enjoys making music together without taking itself too seriously. I'd love to play the occasional gig, get creative, rehearse regularly, and enjoy the social side of it all too.
I'm definitely not looking for perfection—just a friendly group of people who enjoy playing music together and having a laugh!
