ABOUT

Andy is a Hampshire, UK based guitarist, songwriter and producer.

Andy was exposed to song craft and live performance at an early age with his father being a professional country artist and music promoter. In his late teens Andy got a solid grounding in performance by playing frequently with his father's touring band in venues across the UK.

In 2008 after performing for a number of years playing with folk rock collective 'Sound' and then in acoustic duo '3 Penny Puppet', Andy formed Portsmouth based alternative rock band 'TILTED161'. Over the next 5 years the band achieved numerous radio plays, reached the latter stages of the national Live and Unsigned competition and also played many of the south coast's premier live music venues.

After a couple of years away from a musical projects, 2021 saw Andy release a self recorded and produced 4 track EP called 'Lucidity' under his solo project name 'The Program', with the help of some friends old and new.

In 2021 Andy formed new female fronted hard alt-rock band 'Call of Sirens' and recorded a new 4 track EP called 'Gaia' featuring the singles 'Kenopsia' and 'Gravel Tree', both of which received features on BBC Introducing on BBC Radio Solent. In Spring 2023 'Call of Sirens' are embarked on a run of tour gigs across the South of England to support the release of the 'Gaia' EP, before the band went on hiatus.

Influences

With many hard rock and metal influences, Andy cites bands such as Tool, Arcane Roots, Mastadon, Opeth, Tesseract, Karnivool and Breaking Orbit as sources of inspiration for his current modern and progressive sound scaping.

In terms of guitar hero's Andy cites players such as Brian May, Adrian Smith, Alex Lifeson, Marty Friedman, Andy Timmons, Eric Johnson, Dave Gilmour as key inspirations to name just a few.
