Hi, my name is Alex.

I’m a fairly experienced guitarist, former music and music technology student, played in bands playing different styles and performed paid gigs ranging from barn dances, Ceilidhs and weddings to pubs and clubs.

Originally from Brighton, I moved to Norwich in 2016 due to work.

I am looking for like minded musicians who are committed and can play their instruments to a decent standard.

My current focus is playing bass, but happy to play rhythm or lead guitar.

Influences

I was brought up in a musical family. My grandparents were part of a trad folk group and I was taken along to their gigs from a pretty young age. At home I was surrounded by a lot of 90s R&B, House, Techno and Trip Hop. Quite a large amount of Jamiroquai and Brand New Heavies, Groove Armada, Zero 7 etc. which I didn’t appreciate at the time.

As a teenager I got into punk, ska, reggae, metal. The usual stuff. As I got older, my ability and understanding of music improved, and I had a greater appreciation for the sounds I never used to like or care for. I got into contemporary jazz, funk and soul, more progressive and experimental rock.
