ABOUT

I am a versatile drummer and percussionist from Nepal, trained in both the Western drum kit and traditional Nepali percussion instruments such as the Nagara, Dhimey, Pachima, and Madal. I love blending ethnic rhythms with contemporary styles to create a unique and culturally rich sound.
As the core drummer of my original band ghugu’mugu, I have performed at major festivals and events, including Echoes in the Valley and Katjazz International Festival. I have also collaborated with international artists like Eduardo Mendonça and various Nepali musicians, exploring fusion and rhythm-driven projects.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Ethnomusicology from Kathmandu University, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Music and Performing Arts Education at the University of West London. I have been featured on national television, including Miss Nepal 2022, and actively participate in community projects, performing at charity concerts to support social causes. Through my drumming, I aim to honor traditional rhythms from Nepal while pushing creative boundaries, inspiring both audiences and fellow musicians.

Influences

My drumming is influenced by a diverse range of artists, from jazz innovators like Tigray Hamasan, contemporary ensembles like Foheen Trio, and experimental musicians like Avishai Cohen, to rock and alternative icons such as Foo Fighters. These influences inspire me to combine technical skill, creativity, and cultural tradition in my playing.
