Been playing guitar since 11, played in 2 amateur bands in London late 70’s for 2 years. Life and work got in the way, started again mid 80’s, and had to stop as away for work. 2003 went to college for 2 year BTEC Music Performance course mainly pop/rock and jazz standards, learning 3 new songs every 2 weeks and performing them in band. Unfortunately had to stop due left arm/hand issues, 2 years later cause found to be disc problem in neck, had operation and all good after a year or so. Started playing again 2 years ago, back to basics and getting fingers going again.
Can now play to intermediate level, eg Reelin’ In The years’ - Steely Dan, Samba Pa Ti’ Santana, ‘The Thrill is Gone’- BB, ‘I’ll Play you the Blues’ Albert King, ‘Born Under a Bad Sign’ cream, and various others. Working on committing fully to memory.
Spent past year doing JustinGuitar Blues Immersion course twice. Can play blues to average level and able to solo/improvise, a work in progress
