Hi all....there’s a full story to why I’m putting this out today which is to be told another time. I’ve started a cover band from scratch recently which is aimed at 80s/90s/Britpop covers with the same lads I’ve been playing in an originals band with since March. In all fairness the boys are great but they’ve all got their own individual issues and commitments and I’m getting frustrated being able to push forward or get us to the level of standard where we want to be. I’ve worked my arse off in my spare time recently and got a number of gigs booked up until April 2020 but it’s all a one way effort and now looks like I’m going to have to pull all the gigs I’ve gotten upto press rather that humiliating ourselves. Our first cover gig is due and I’m likely having to cancel because it’s just not ready and everybody else’s interest is in the originals which for me ain’t working because I refuse to give up my time and gig for nothing anymore! So this band has basically fallen on its arse before it’s even started.
So about me - I’m 32 (just turned) been drumming since around age 7 all self taught, played in many bands over the years depped with many some you may have heard of some you may not. I’m looking to either get this band off the ground with people that give a sh*t and want to commit, play and gig weekends, but not every weekend or.....I’m looking to join an already working cover band but I only want to play paid work now and no longer interested in originals. I’m based in Pudsey leeds, my experience goes way back but I can also sing so maybe interested if not drumming, as lead vocals (depending on the music). I can also play rhythm guitar and own a number of acoustics. I recently invested in some good PA kit to get a band off the ground as already mentioned which maybe able to be utilised depending. I have all my own drum gear also and transport.
