Originally starting on piano at the age of 5, my passion for music was developed learning jazz and blues. This later led to learning the drums (which is the instrument I am most proficient in) which I continued to gain experience though playing jazz. After around three years playing jazz, when I was around the age of 12, I began to get involved playing in rock bands in my local town. There was a very supportive atmosphere for young musicians which was very important for me as I progressed. Through playing in this genre I was exposed to the guitar and bass which I started learning also at a young age of around 14-15. By the time I got to college I was a very experienced drummer having done lots of gigging. I also started to gain experience playing bass in bands and developed some good technique. I then progressed to university where I studied composition and played lots of drums and bass. Having started on the piano but not putting much time in to it because of my drumming, I wanted to get it to a reasonable level for composition and general playing. Having now graduated from university I spent ample time, composing on the guitar, bass, piano and saxophone as well as continuing to gig on the drums... Playing function gigs and collaborating with original projects, big band jazz and lots of studio work.

Influences
My influences have come from mostly from my younger rock inspired self with drummers like John Bonham, Ginger baker and also some of the gosple players like Tony Royster Jr and Ronal Bruner Jr.
