Originally formed in 1992, The Dakota Stars gigged for 3 years in and around Brighton and London. They were signed to Popcor records and released the single "It's Not the End of the World" in 1994. Their last gig of the 90s was Podfest (Brighton's Britpop showcase) in 1995.

After an extended sabbatical they reformed in 2007 and have done a flurry of gigs in Brighton and are set to release the album they should have done 15 years ago.
