Hi, I'm Marc a (young at heart) 40 year old singer-songwriter and acoustic (classically trained) guitarist living in Barnet, Hertfordshire. I've had a wealth of writing and performance experience over the past 30 years in large scale amateur musicals, satirical comedy revues, clubs, organisations and care homes for the elderly, and some open mic sessions. I have also been singing with a professional pianist for the past 7 years. I'm looking for a talented, reliable, expressive, sight reading (or extremely good player by ear) female accordian player (who perhaps also sings or writes but this is not essential), to see if it is possible to form a duo to play covers and original material as 'background music' at receptions, restaurants and functions, and also at the odd care home or charity event and maybe open mic sessions, and other 'venues'. I am ideally searching for a female as I think this will create a better balance and an accordian player as I feel it would make a 'complimentary' sound to the guitar. It's also more portable than a keyboard! I just feel like I need to go 'somewhere' (and fast!) and start playing to a wider audience and at the same time have fun, gain more experience and preferably try to make some money too! Due to work commitments etc. this would have to be 'part time' initially but it would be interesting to see what could develop. My songwriting and singing style is very much melodic and laid back - Katie Melua/Paul Simon/Cat Stevens/Neil Diamond/The Beatles/Blossom Dearie etc. plus older show songs/writers from Irving Berlin, Lerner & Lowe, Rodgers & Hart etc. I have my own PA system and car. I would like to create something special, with class and quality! I look forward to hearing from you thanks....
