Drums, Background Singer.

ABOUT

Hi

We are looking for a drummer to complete a rock band.

We are normally a trio, consisting of a guitarist/vocalist, and me on bass. We are both 19 years old and have a lot of gigging experience, having been a band for over three years now, but we are in need of a new drummer.

We're looking for a drummer who is aged around 18-24. Previous experience is preferred, but not essential, providing you can actually play the drums- obviously!

Aside from playing our own material, we cover bands like: Cream, The Rolling Stones, Kasabian, Neil Young and The White Stripes. If you write songs we would welcome any contributions.

The problem is that we are both at University- me based in Stoke-on-Trent a lot of the year and our singer in Lancaster. However, we are looking to rehearse as often as we can in the meantime, and are hoping to cram as many gigs into the summer months we are home as possible- chances are you might be at uni too, so you might be faced with the same problem, but that's no reason we can't still gig at every given opportunity- we are both serious players and are looking to do as much as possible, so this is a long-term offer, not just for this year.

We also want to record new material sometime in the not too distant future.

Whatever cash we make/need to spend on something for the band we split it three-ways.

You would need your own drum kit and some kind of transport to bring your kit around.

In terms of kit, we both play Fender Guitars, our guitarist plays a Peavey 120 amp, and I play a Marshall 300 bass amp, just in case you are curious... we do not have our own PA, so either use the pubs/rent.

We practice in a rehearsal room in Todmorden, where we live, which would cost you about £6/7 for three hours of practice. If you don't know, Todmorden is near Rochdale, but providing you can get over here to practice and do the odd gig in the pubs, it doesn't really matter where you're coming from.

Ideally, we are thinking of re-vamping the band- changing the name and recording some more music. (The last time we recorded was nearly three years ago with our very first drummer) so it would be a bit of a rebirth, although we already have a set of about 17 songs- originals and covers, so if you'd rather rehearse them and get straight into gigs ASAP that's good too.

We're not bothered if you are in another band as well, but we are looking for someone who is seriously dedicated to doing this and who has a real passion for gigs.

And at the risk of sounding really egotistical, you would be very hard pressed to find a bass player as good as me in this age range, and our singer/guitarist- really powerful voice and a good, solid guitar player.

If you think you fit the bill, please message me on here, or at nuttalljames@rocketmail

Looking forward to your responses,
James
