I'm a committed and competent guitarist (who can also play lead and do some backing vocals) looking for musicians or a band that shares my love of 90s indie music and plays (or plays in the style of) bands like Suede, Blur, the Bluetones, R.E.M., The Pixies, The Smiths etc. Don't mind being in a covers or tribute band, though also interested in making original music. Covers wise, I can play most things but am less interested in re-treading ground from the 50s, 60s and 70s and prefer 90s onwards. I don't have an ego and will slot into an existing band, or pursue a new project with the right person/people - I just want to play the great songs that I love and which I don't hear much of these days... Influences
Anything indie/alternative. Selected favourites include Pink Floyd, The Doors, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, R.E.M., The Cure, Suede, Radiohead, Stone Roses and I'm a big Smiths fan. Very influenced by the indie/alternative bands of the late 80s to mid 90s (The Breeders, Teenage Fanclub, Belly, Sleeper, Mansun, early Pulp, etc. etc.) but also a fan of 'golden age' Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Green Day, etc. So my playing style is pretty versatile and sits somewhere inbetween all of the above...
