I write a lot of songs that are folk-leaning without being ‘folk’ songs as such. Lyrically, my songs tend to be focussed on nature, what you might term as the human condition and our place within the world. Some are intense end energetic, while others are more sedate. I prefer not to limit my musical output into any particular genre or style and often combine electronic elements and found sounds into my recordings. So realistically, as long as an idea, lyric, sound or musical part is interesting and works sonically in a track it’s viable for inclusion.

Influences
Very mixed, but a few long term favourites have been King Creosote, Beta Band, Boards of Canada, 70’s folk, Super Furry Animals, Gorky’s Zygotic Mynchi, 1920’s swing Jazz, Chemical Brothers, Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Courtney Barnett and Nirvana.
