Band to Join.ABOUT
My name's Rick and I'm looking for a CLASSIC ROCK, HARD ROCK or CLASSIC METAL band (Original material preferred) - ideally vocals/1 guitar/bass/drums.
I'm 29, been playing for 16 years and have top quality equipment, plus my own car. Check out my examples I've uploaded to my profile and see what you think.
I'm able to travel as far as: DONCASTER - CASTLEFORD - PONTEFRACT - GOOLE - HULL - and possibly as far as SHEFFIELD - ROTHERHAM. I'm actually from Grimsby, but after struggling to find the right band in my local area I've decided to try further afield.
AVAILABILITY:
Saturdays: morning, afternoon and evening.
Sundays: morning and afternoon until 18:00.
Also every other Friday and Sunday evening.
Unfortunately i work alternating shifts Mon-Fri which is why my availability is limited, although i do have the option of taking holidays if required for a gig.
EXPERIENCE:
I've been in many bands over the years, playing pubs and clubs around the area. These bands have mainly been cover bands but, i was in an original band in my teens and i do continue to write my own material. I've been out of the loop for a couple years now so I'm happy to play either, or both, covers or original material.
KNOWLEDGE:
I do know a lot about music theory and can read sheet music, as well as playing by ear. Although i don't have any grades and I'm completely self taught, i have read several books over the years and i always strive to improve my playing and knowledge. I hope that hasn't made me sound too boring. (lol). I will just mention, despite my theory knowledge, i always try to make things sound musical and try to play with the right feel for the song, whether it's a cover or an original one.
TUNINGS:
I play in standard tuning, or Drop D (6th string only). I appreciate a lot of bands are tuning down these days so i thought i better mention it.
