I’m interested to play in a band that has something to say; about the political landscape. One that is left of centre and critical of the current state of affairs. I align myself with the Green Party and Environmental movement generally as well as the reinvigorated left of the Labour Party with a smattering of Anarchy. While I want to play music that has social awareness and challenges the conceits of mainstream politicians and media; music and lyric is a great way to carry a message, I really like having fun and the messages should be invigorating, full of movement and energy. Not dour and moaning but challenging, celebratory, ironic, angry (when necessary) and rapturous. While my greatest instrumental influence is Jimi Hendrix I have very eclectic taste that ranges through; classical, latin, jazz, blues, reggae, punk, rock, funk, folk and country, electronica, acid house, hip hop etc etc etc... I like to play my guitar loudly and am very happy to play well-chosen covers if that gets the party rocking. Ideally I would like to play with others who see it as a project... an ongoing escapade that will develop a diverse yet unique voice. Diversity is the key; cultural, ethnic, gender, age and musical.
