ABOUT

Playing in two bands, an originals project, called The Volted Hearts, comprised of myself (David Kline) guitarist / singer / songwriter, along with skillful drummer and percussionist (Hugo James), melodic bass player (Pete Lock) and Phil Bax (lead guitar)

As well as a 6 piece covers band, called Those Dirty McGuffins, featuring 3 vocalists, lead guitar, rhythm guitar (acoustic), bass, drums, ukulele / percussion and violin. Looking to add keyboards, brass, strings and backing singers.

All welcome to apply, male or female, returners after a break and older players too.

Music Bio: As a Singer / songwriter David Kline has lots of experience of songwriting and playing in bands, including live work and recording. His songs reflect his varied influences and are a mix of 60s garage pop, 70s new wave with a splash of Motown, Stax and Soul. His songs emphasise strong melodies, big choruses with witty, ironic lyrics and a splash of social comment.

David has previously fronted west London, mod-influenced quintet, The Provisos, active between 2009-2015.

The Volted Hearts rehearse at Pirate studios in Notting Hill or Wembley every few weeks.

Those dirty mcguffins rehearse 2-3 times a month in Hanwell, Brentford or Chiswick

However, we all have work and family commitments so this is essentially fun projects, so a sense of humour and relaxed attitude are crucial. If you are happy to rehearse every few weeks and gig every few months, this project is ideal for you.
