After listening to some early demo's, What About Charlie? appear almost confoundingly chaotic, their tunes writhing and slithering all over the place But once you actually acclimatise yourself to their singular brand post-rock, you start to realise that there's not only method to the madness - shedloads of it, in fact - but there are some seriously sturdy tunes wrapped up in there too.
There's definitely a nod to Pink Floyd and The Stone Roses in there, as many have already commented. Perhaps even stronger influences come from the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Smith's (imagine a cross between the two, and you're approaching the ball-park...just about). Far more importantly though, there's also a generous helping of originality What About Charlie? don't sound quite like any other band around , and that alone is worthy of high praise.
I really can't wait to hear something new from What About Charlie? as Steve Blue lead singer say's "Watch this space.
