Papadia’s music is like a journey on a littorina (almost obsolete local train) that passes through the peninsula of Salento. Along the way it encounters vast hypnotic plains of burnt red earth, stopping in each little station, amongst the people, the narrow streets and the lively market. But this train travels along a single rail, never meeting another.
The journey proceeds, with an ever changing rhythm, slower and faster, toward foreign languages and unknown distant places, that will live on in your soul and in which you can offload the burden of your own experiences...
‘u PAPADIA, one of the most eclectic Italian percussionists and folk-singers, currently collaborates with many famous Italian Folk musicians.
Among these are: Teresa De Sio, Ambrogio Sparagna, Nando Citarella, Lucilla Galeazzi. He has been a member of Teresa De Sio’s band since 2004. He was interpreter and co-author with Mike Mainieri (Steps Ahead) in the project ”Orchestra Leucasia” (NYC Records New York - 2005). He founded the electro-world music band “Ammaraciccappa” (CNI\Music 2007).
