I'm hoping to start a band to play modern rock/indie/pop/acoustic songs that have a bit of a "spiritual dimension" to them. And I want to gig in the beautiful old churches of York. Yes, I'm kinda religious but hopefully in an open minded kind of a way! The songs I have in mind aren't too preachy and I am keen to work with others to make the project into something we are all happy with. The music will aim to be contemporary but also reverent and arranged for big spaces. I am imagining big, open, rich and glorious sounds! Think Sigur Ros, Tom McRae, Mumford and Sons, The Polyphonic Spree, U2, Jeff Buckley or Pink Floyd.
Looking for everything: vocals, drums, guitar, bass, keys (you may end up playing piano, organ or electronic noises!), strings, brass et al. However, the song is king and if the triangle is not needed then the trianglist will not be playing!
A few of my recordings are above but we will probably not sound like them. I am happy to sing but it would be good if we could find someone better at it than me!
