The Witty Featherstones originally met in the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (currently both seconds years) and subsequently managed to begin creating/recording music and breaking into the local gig scene using LIPA equipment and connections, performing such events as the Firefit Hub Festival, Liverpool Live Lounge Sofa sessions, The 2ube, Baa Bar, Kazimier, Berlin Bar, The Brink, Zanzibar and even a 'Peanut Hottie' (peanut butter flavoured hot drink) advertisement campaign, and more.
Having been performing as an acoustic duo, we are looking to expand the band primarily with a permanent bassist and drummer, although we are open to a keyboard player and ANY other instruments which could help make us sound unique, which is what we aim to capture.
We have over an E.P's worth of original material already as well as a set of covers. Our songs vary from upbeat and funny using witty lyrics and hooks, to more conventional chartable songs, to storytelling and we feel we need a full band to fully find and enhance the sound we want. We are open to new original music to be brought to the table and want to create a process of collaboration and involvement from all members.
If we had to say right now who we want to be most like, we would probably say "Madness esque" because we want to create a sense of fun and enjoyment with extremely catchy songs whilst having a distinct look and style. We are at the point where we could go any direction with the right members.
We want The Witty Featherstones to go big places and need new band members to be willing to fully invest in it so we can try and capture as big an audience as possible.
