This was recorded on my laptop, so you may need to turn the volume up or listen on head phones. When we put a band together we want to play more energetic rock music, but hopefully this will give a sense of our vocals and songwriting.

ABOUT

We're a Hastings based duo, "The Mariners" (Carl and Andy), looking for a drummer and bass player. If you're interested email me (Andy) at ajconway180@.
We both started playing guitar aged 15ish, and started playing and singing together recently (I moved to Hastings at the end of 2011). We started off playing folk/blues but want to get a band together to play more energetic rock, rehearse and play some gigs.
We swap lead and rhythm guitar and lead and backing vocals. We?ve written a few songs together and individually and we?re always writing new stuff. We aspire to write songs with interesting and clever lyrics, memorable choruses, powerful riffs, short and sparse yet incisive solos, with a messy but tight sound.
We?re looking for musicians to jam with, write their own bass lines/drum beats, develop original music and have a good time while we do it.
We regularly play the open mic nights at the Hastings Arms (Wednesday) and Bar Blue (Tuesday), doing covers and our own songs. One of our favourite songs to play at the moment is a mash up of ?Hit the Road Jack? and ?Been Smoking to Long? (by Nick Drake).

EQUIPMENT

Electric guitars and practice amps, acoustic guitars, bass and amp and a drum kit. When we get the band together, we plan to rehearse at the guitar school rehearsal rooms so all amps provided, all that?s needed are guitars and cymbals for the drum kit.
