Tangerine Scene

Vacancy for a DRUMMER for gigging 60s / 70's Function Band.

London Essex Herts

Tangerine Scene are a new semi pro function band comprising older ex-professional musicians fronted by an outstanding young female singer who recently graduated from The London School of Music.

Our product is playing chart hits exactly like the original records from the 60s and 70s,

We have been gigging since the summer and have bookings in the diary for 2019

We gig once or twice a month (no more). We rehearse once every three weeks in Waltham Abbey; the studio is two minutes from the M25. Individually we are spread around London, Hertfordshire, Essex, and Bucks.

All the back line are old-git ex-pro or semi-pro musicians in our late fifties. Excellent players one and all. Two Lead guitars (one takes acoustic rhythm on such songs), Organ / Piano, Bass and Drums. Two of us have excellent backing vocals. Some of us had record deals back in the day. We’re pretty good!

See us on YouTube at:

We are nice people; educated, no egos, liberal world view - we get along well and have a laugh.

I put the band together from scratch last year and hand picked the musicians.

We have played festivals over the summer, pubs through the autumn and we have gigs in the diary for 2019.

We are currently looking for the right agent to move into more highly paid corporate, wedding, local authority, county fair and function work.

Pub, festivals and music-venue gigs for the past six months has tightened us up but the business plan is to take only higher paid engagements by the middle of the new year. I.e., functions, corporate, parties, County shows, weddings, private parties, festivals, Local Authority bookings, and so on.

We are organised and professional; proactive on the sales and marketing front.

Sadly we have just lost our drummer due to domestic circumstances.

We need someone with a little flair (any age) who is familiar with and wants to play chart hits from the 60s and 70s EXACTLY LIKE THE RECORD.

We do our homework. We arrive at rehearsals having individually learnt the agreed new songs and can set up, count in and can play them pretty much spot on straight away. I provide YouTube clips so we all learn the same arrangements. It works. Progress is fast. It’s a great band.

The material includes:
The Small Faces, The Kinks, Stevie Wonder, Free, The Zombies, Santana, Badfinger, Cream, Spencer Davis, Bad Company, Crosby Stills Nash, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Cockney Rebel, Shocking Pink, Stealers Wheel, Ike &Tina, Aretha Franklin, Creedence Clearwater, and more . . . anything from the era that makes the punters dance.

You do not have to be local. Our band comprises people who live across 3 counties.

We are a down to earth friendly bunch, we laugh a lot, take the piss, . . , not up our own backsides . . , we aim to make a little money playing the music of our teenage years and have fun doing it.
