A Little Lie
A Little LieMan, this song is just nectar on the ol' vocal cords. It touches my soul, this song.
All The Woman I Need
All The Woman I NeedSome songs feel trivial when you write them - but they demand your attention, and demand that you put them out there. This is one of those songs. I have to admit, I enjoyed writing it. It made me smile. It still feels trivial to me, but it feels good.
It's OverEnding a relationship when you are in love is a very difficult thing to do. But it can be necessary
See The Sunshine
See The SunshineMy god, I have some dark days. This song was written as I was coming out of a depressive ebb. It is all about trying to find that diamond in the coal - but there is a sting in the tail, if you are looking closely enough.
I Want You
I Want YouThis is a nonsense song, really. It's great fun to play on the guitar and a cool vehicle for some easy harmonies. It isn't profound in any way, shape or form - but it makes me smile.
YouI had this really intense relationship, and it was like an opera. It was wild. We were so bad for each other! We just wound each other up. This relationship, it was like a drug - so, so bad for you, but as addictive as hell. It was this way for both of us. Anyway, I loved her in a way that was painful - and this song is all about her. It's funny that something so beautiful (this is my favourite song ever), came out of a situation that was so turbulent, and so destructive.
It's Gonna Be Alright
It's Gonna Be AlrightComing out of a turbulent few weeks of complete mental noise, my head calmed down and began to find a working rhythm again. I felt like I had been away for a time and while I was sad to have missed the time with the people I love, it was great to see them once more. It'll happen again, but this song might remind me that the periods I have away do not last forever.
The Night You Got Away
The Night You Got AwaySometimes you don't know where these songs come from. I can't say why, but this song laments the escape of a hostage from the point of a view of the serial killer that was holding her. Don't ask me. I just write 'em.
Wendy's SongI've always loved this song. It's a little more rugged around the edges than it used to be. There is a fourth verse, which I forgot when I did this recording - largely because I am a doofus with a memory like a seive.
