ABOUT

Experienced and committed bass player - with BV's if needed - looking to join / form a band in or around North London, although for the right music and people I'd be prepared to travel anywhere within the M25 really.

In terms of forming a new band, ideally I want to do something that falls more into the post-rock spectrum (Oceansize, Vennart, Maybeshewill sorta stuff - don't mind if it's instrumental or with vocals) but to be honest I just miss being in a band and playing awesome music so if you like any of the bands in the influences section below get in touch as I'm always up for a jam!! Number 1 aim of being in a band: have fun. Everything else is a bonus.

I've spent the last 13 years in various bands in and around Surrey / London with approx. 100 gigs around the country. Apart from a wedding covers band I haven't really been active for the past 3 years and am itching to be creative again.
If you want to listen to any original stuff you can listen at the following -
https://soundcloud/victory-red - collection of old demos and works in progress - Oceansize meets Deftones (layers of sound / interesting rhythms / huge choruses) with sultry female vocals.
https://slowglass.bandcamp - only 1 EP available to stream here, this was more straight up Biffy-meets-Reuben style rock

As a player I'm no virtuoso, I'm just a solid dependable player, link up really well with drummers and enjoy interesting rhythms, harmonies and melodies. I'm comfortable with playing in strange time signatures if needed and can provide backing vocals although my voice is fairly deep with not much high range. I'm laid back and don't want to join a band with any control freaks. Strongly believe in the ethos that regardless of which instruments anyone plays, everyone should be free to contribute musically and suggest ideas to each other.

EQUIPMENT

A 35 years old, battered, Japanese Fender Jazz Special... sounds awesome.
Tech21 Landmark 400W head.
Currently without a cab for space saving reasons, prepared to invest if necessary.
Panda Future Impact synth pedal, and an old distortion, can't remember which but it sounds pretty gnarly.
