Pyrrhic is a progressive metal band founded by Chris Billingham & Dan Angelow in 2012. Early 2013 seen Bassist Rhys Anslow join.
Biography
A new breed of Progressive Metal is about to tear across the music scene by the newly founded 'Pyrrhic'. Pyrrhic was founded in the summer of 2012 by drummer Chris Billingham and Guitarist Dan Angelow. The following months would see this dynamic duo start to compose the makings of their future debut release. whilst both founding members have been very busy, Chris with two cover bands and another metal band and Dan with spreading his time between 'Dr & the medics', 'Pure Thieves' - a shared cover band between Dan and Chris, 'circus of horrors' not to mention owning and running his own studio. The pair have knocked up a handful of marathon prog metal epics with tracks ranging from 7 to 18 minutes. Tracks from soft, low dynamics to 'go run and hide'!!

In early 2013 the band secured another musician into its lineup in Rhys Anslow. Rhys is an astonishing bass player from south Wales and is a long term friend and previous band mate of Chris. Rhys has a very busy schedule between his full time job, gaining more and more qualifications, running his own band of session musicians called 'The Rhys Anslow Project' and many other things. Despite this Rhys is very excited to have joined Pyrrhic. Dan, Chris are extremely happy to have Rhys on board as they know that Rhys has a lot to offer not only as an exceptional musician but as a great friend.

The band name 'Pyrrhic' was chosen because of the words meaning. The definition is 'success through great loss'. This meaning really struck a chord with Chris. It seemed to wrap up Chris's story over the past 2 years and also how Chris feels with his progress thus far. From being told he'd never drum again to playing to the same standard as before the unfortunate accident while he was on tour in Europe with 'Lost In Thought' is a pretty astonishing feat.

Chris has been in the studio with Dan acting as recording engineer and producer to record the drum parts for the debut Pyrrhic release. Rhys also joined them providing a lot of media help and support. The guys spent two weeks on this process and thoroughly enjoyed it. The next step will now be to start laying down guitar and bass parts.
