ABOUT

Professional Drummer and Cajon player based in Kent.
30+ Years of experience.
Reliable.
Own transport.
Studio friendly.
Session or Dep work also accepted.
Can play to click if required.

I rarely get the chance to record myself performing gigs so on my profile are some examples taken by other people/companies.

I do have my own recording studio and can offer "online" sessions if required.

Band and/or musician wise I'm looking for either an established or well rehearsed band/musician that is ready to go the whole hog and play gigs beyond "the local pub".
I'm used to playing festivals and theatres as well as dedicated music venues. I've played and still do play all over Kent, Sussex and areas of London and have toured Austin,TX.

I've experience with originals, covers and tribute acts

As music is my full time occupation, I'm used to playing with musicians without egos and who are friendly and completely committed.

I'm not looking for people who won't ever go beyond the rehearsal process or with musicians who feel they are more important than others. Neither am I interested in performers who feel they "play better" when they're intoxicated or "high". I'm looking to play with other professionals.

Recording wise, the same applies, however if you're just recording for "the sake of it" that doesn't bother me, all recording work is done on a session basis. What you choose to do with the song/s after that is of course up to you.

I will play all kinds of genres and styles with the exception of any form of "metal".
I'm a pocket and groove player who plays for the song.

I'm generally considered a nice, easy going person and I hope that comes over in this description. I have listed the things I am not looking for to avoid time wasting on both sides.

If you wish to discuss anything further, please drop me a message.

Influences

(I actually wanted to tick more than the four allowed music genres as both my playing and interests reflect 29 of them)

Influences are too many to mention really. I've always had a love of music and had an open mind with it. I grew up starting with my parents tastes of Motown, Stax and soul, plus Blues, 60s and 70s Rock, Rock'n'Roll, (the original) R&B and some classical.
I then added to that with genres from the 80s and 90s, then enjoyed looking back further into 60s, 50s, 30s and yes even the 20s.

You'll find elements of funk, soul, jazz, blues, rock, motown and even country and big band in my playing. It all depends upon the band/musician and song/s though as they all have an influence on the final sound too.
