With french origins, having grown up in England I strongly benefitted from the UK's strong musical heritage, in a variety of styles having been the drummer of many inspiring orignal projects, in the styles of Indie-Folk-Rock, Indie-Art-Rock, Fusion Jazz-Pop/Rock. This developed in me a strong ear and understanding of music composition and song-writing.
With years of experience in Funk and Soul and Pop function bands I'm well seasoned in covers of a variety of style as a drummer and backing vocalist.
My following move took back me to France, completing one year in a high end music school in Bordeaux. This allowed me to hone in on my skills as a sight-reading musician and deepen my practice as drummer. This lead to me getting a job as a sight-reading orchestra drummer on cruise ships; a demanding gig which requires excellent sight-reading skills in a variety of styles, pop, rock, funk, soul, jazz, big band, theatre production shows, and a variety of headline shows.
Alongside working as a session musician, I write, perform and produce my own songs under the name of N A I K O
