Band to Join.

Young, Wiltshire-based musician, Moray Macdonald is a rare talent on the music scene these days. He is a classically trained pianist and inventive composer with a vast knowledge of music old and new. This combined with his wealth of experience performing live and in the studio has given him a reputation as a talented and reliable musician.

He is currently writing and recording with original prog rock bands Ghost Community and Mistress of Science, and is a touring member of Welsh prog/metal band Godsticks. He has been a member of Crimson Sky from 2011 until their disbandment in 2014 and he occasionally makes guest appearances with Reading-based classic rock covers band Swallow. In the past he has played with Floydian Doors, the UK's only tribute to Pink Floyd and the Doors. He has played up and down the UK, and has toured central Europe with Godsticks, sharing a stage with the Aristocrats. A versatile performer, he is just as comfortable playing improvising sets with songs called on the fly as he is playing for high-production, click-synced shows.

In addition to his band work, he has also worked with several theatre groups, composing music in styles from classical to punk, via avant-garde. He also has a lot of experience as an accompanist, vocal coach and pit band musician, and has played for musicals such as Rent, Chicago and Assassins.

Other skills include synthesizer programming, sound design, basic video editing and click/sync track preparation.

'The other thing that strongly impresses is Moray Macdonaldâ??s keyboard playing. Much is his playing is understated, adding colour rather than playing lead, but he shines on â??The Parkâ?? with that great organ riff and some lovely piano later in the song. Thereâ??s more than a touch of Marillionâ??s Mark Kelly about his playing, especially his solo on â??Crimson Skyâ??.'

'Moray's keys add a new dimension to the sound'

[on Ghost Community] 'impressively tight for a band playing only its fourth gig and performing such ambitious music'
