The Matchstalk Men are a five piece band looking to replace their bass guitar player who now has other commitments. We need a decent bass player who is also not bad at backing vocals.
We play late 1950s/early to mid 1960s stuff, and try to keep away from the songs other bands of a similar genre play. It's a great little band sharing many years experience!
Our lead singer has a great vocal range and is rather adept at grabbing the attention of the audience. We also share lead vocals on chosen songs. The band works hard on backing vocals when a song requires them. We play pubs and clubs mainly around the Manchester area.
We're all getting on a bit, and for us it's about having a great band and having fun.... and because of this we understand that anyone interested in joining us would have to be of mature years themselves, not only to have a feel for the music, but not mind playing with a bunch of well seasoned older guys!
