ABOUT

Okay, I have been playing for years, but have only recently started to take my grades. I am currently on grade 3, so therefore my reading is getting better by the week. I currently play with the Stowmarket Concert Band, and I have no wish to change that, but I am looking to play with a smaller band, preferably blues or swing, possibly jazz. I work a rotating 3 day week, so rehearsals gig timings will depend on what I am working on a particular week
Now looking to try to find other Blues bands and possibly try out some Swing as well.
I work a rotating 3 day week so I have a fair bit of flexibility with my spare time.
I play for fun and enjoyment, but any fiscal reward is always welcome. I do not copy any other Drummers style, I purely play my way. I will listen to ideas, and happy to try new things, but my main priority is to enhance the music not to detract from it. Looking to hopefully get together with like minded and laid back players who just enjoy making beautiful music.

Influences

Blimey, there are many drummers that have influenced me over the years. The great Bernard Purdie, the equally magnificent Peter Erskine, and the late, great Ted Mckenna. There are many others, Steve Gadd, Gavin Harrison, Gilson Lavis. Ash Soan, Stanley Randolph, the list goes on, but in truth, i am influenced by every drummer/percussionist I see or hear, everyone of them has something new.
