I'm in Love with an Alien © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalists
I'm in Love with an Alien © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalistsI’m in love with an Alien by Gowan and Cross © You make me feel real good babe, you make feel strong. You’re walking up and down the alleyway all night long. Your mom never would have believed it, but she never found it. I’m in love with an alien and I can’t hide it. You make me feel so fine love, you make me feel good. Running down the back street sure to find what I could. You said that I needed a limit, and I simply can’t find it. Yeah, I’m in love with an alien and I won’t fight it. Chorus You make me feel the way that I knew that you would. You made me love, you made it feel it was good. You don’t understand that your fallin’ let me get up and find it. I'm in love with an alien and I can’t hide it. You make me feel real fine love, you make me feel strong. I’ve been walking up and down that alleyway all night long. You say that you wanna believe it and I just couldn’t hide it. Yeah, I’m in love with an alien and I can’t fight it. Chorus :- You say that nothings gonna change the way that I feel. You say that nothings gonna, say its not real – Yeah ! You say that you wanna believe it but you just couldn’t find it. I'm in love with an alien and I can’t fight it. I'm in love with an alien and that feels right.

I've Forgotten How © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalists
I've Forgotten How © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalistsA song about this precious fucked up world we all live in and ultimately inspired by our bigoted hatred of each other. May all our so called "gods" help us to help ourselves. I’ve Forgotten How by Gowan and Cross © Running free through the gardens of gold. Freedom won through the deeds of the old. No life of fear no dread of death, so we're told. But I can feel the winds of change now, slowly turn cold. A portent of doom that foresees fear and war. A sense of doubt that rattles everyone’s door. Turn back your pages, seems we’ve seen it all before. Its time we stood up now, for what we adore. Chorus And I won’t stand and die for you, simply cry for you again. I simply want to the right to shout, scream at the crowds again. And I feel like crying, what have we done now? I cannot speak out my name, I’ve forgotten how. I want to shout about it – shout about it - shout out my name A crazy notion just came to my head. A world without conflict, and all religion dead. No cowardly deeds to stain a blade running red. I saw a vision of hope, full of goodwill instead. Let us leave a legacy of hope. That the young want to live for, so society copes. A moral standing for ordinary folk. With a realisation, life ain’t a joke. Chorus So I can simply shout out loud, scream at the crowds again. I can shout out all my views not be abused again. And I feel like screaming, what have you done now? I’m so scared to say my name, I’ve forgotten how. ©

Suicidal © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalists
Suicidal © by Gowan and Cross - UK songwriting competition finalistsSuicidal - Written by Mark Gowan and Mervyn Cross © markgowan@hotmail.co.uk Performed by Mark Gowan, Mervyn Cross and Elliott Gowan © It’s been a really bad night; beat my heart up in my room. In frustration and anger, I've blasphemed at the moon. Now it’s a really bad day, I’m stressed out at work. And the telephone’s ringing, and my life has gone berserk. Since you went away, everything’s changed. Since you went away, everything’s strained. I’m feeling like a dog that throws its own stick. Feeling like the cat that gets that final kick. I can’t seem to drag myself from this spiralling malaise. Such a pain, such anguish, one of those days. Since you went away, my life’s changed. Since you went away, my life is strange. Chorus I’m suicidal - I’m suicidal - I’m suicidal - I’m suicidal Bridge You know I can’t get to grips with all that’s gone on. Can’t seem to get it right, ‘cos it’s always goin' wrong. Look at a ghost of a man who was strong. Trying to figure where his happiness has gone. Now I’m pondering my future, can’t see the way to go. Surrounded by darkness, alone in my own show. Since you went away, my life’s changed. Since you went away, I’m deranged. Chorus I’m suicidal - I’m suicidal - I’m suicidal – Yeah - I’m suicidal – Yeah. I’m suicidal – So, so, so, so suicidal – So suicidal - I’m suicidal. It’s all your fault © markgowan@hotmail.co.uk

Often would attribute violent moods to menopause. Conceptualised redemption, exotic places and distant shores. Now she said her name was Nancy, no indication it was untrue. But changed twice to Lucy oh god what’s a boy to do. I guess it doesn’t matter though, cos who the hell is fooling who? She was a hard hearted woman, I guess she never understood. She was a hard hearted woman, I guess we knew she never would. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She’s got a dose of strontium ninety circulating in her brain. She says there’s weird buzzing but it alleviates the pain. I guess I didn’t realise then but, man the woman’s insane. Yeah the cotton mouths were biting at my heals and at my side. To alleviate the fear a song or two were tried. Then out there in the distance old Nancy’s ran shack was spied. She was a headed hearted woman, I guess she never understood. She was a hard hearted woman, I guess we knew she never would. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She said she moved from Jackson, headed west to Baton Rouge. Then asked me for some details and I politely refused. I aint here for chit chat and she looked faintly amused. Ha she whispered in my ear now fifty dollars aint a lot. But judging by your appearance I guess that’s all you’ve got. So come on over here then boy, let’s make the delta rebel rock. She was a hard headed woman, I guess she never understood. She was a hard headed woman, I guess we knew she never would. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. She was a swamp, swamp, swamp, swamp angel. markgowan@hotmail.co.uk
