Armagideon Breaking (Instrumental Dub)- Friends of the Family
Armagideon Breaking (Instrumental Dub)- Friends of the FamilyEarly instrumental version of the Friends of the Family song 'Armagideon Breaking' The unusual spelling of Armageddon is a deliberate nod to Jamaican dub reggae artist Willie Williams and his seminal, era defining 1979 track Armagideon Time, which was covered the next year by The Clash as Justice Tonight/Kick It Over on the b-side to London Calling. This mix of 'Armagideon Breaking' was recorded at SMV Studios, Bradford in the October/ November of 2005. Produced and engineered by Dave Dunn who had previously worked with New Zealand garage rock act the Datsuns on their second album, Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and John Peel endorsed Creation Roots again, on their second album. He went on to produce Yorkshire based punk-goth band Skeletal Family's second album, who were another outfit endorsed by the late John Peel. Dave now runs the online digital download record label Awakaned Sounds, part of the Awakened Network, serving up meditation and manifestation music using the 432 Hz 'miracle tone', binaural bets and isochronic tones. https://awakenedsounds.com © Copyright 2006 Burton/Dunn/Jackson/Summers ℗ Copyright 2006 Burton/Dunn/Jackson/Summers

Armagideon Breaking - Friends of the Family
Armagideon Breaking - Friends of the Family"Couldn't have put it better myself, couldn't have happened to anyone else, could you be the one to come on through. I don't think it's worth the wait, I don't think I really wanna say...could you be the one to cast the Judgement Day?" Written back in the year 2002 with a timeless feel and a hypnotic riff inter-winding in out of the lyrical call to action, dissecting the melody and minor key middle-eastern guitar hook. Then unfurls a crunching twin guitar assault of the shouty-shouty chorus of 'BRING ON ARMAGIDEON' which blasts away with crunching, fuzzy guitars. "Bring on Armagideon...To save the world. Bring on Armagideon....Give nature back her control." The Motownesque drum beat is reminiscent of The Stone Roses 'I am the Resurrection', while even Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' is given a subtle lyrical nod in the song's climax, played over the chords to Iggy Pop's 'The Passenger - albeit in a different key. However it is the songs opening Dsus2 chord which sets the scene - 'The End' - paraphrasing that nihilistic number by the Doors... © Copyright 2006 Burton/Dunn/Jackson/Summers ℗ Copyright 2006 Burton/Dunn/Jackson/Summers
