ABOUT

I'm an experienced, passionate Singer/Songwriter with lots of gigging experience. I'm enthusiastic, excitable and I love playing & making music.

Looking for like-minded musicians to write, gig, and record with. It shouldn't be difficult but, going on past experience, unfortunately, it is difficult to find people who are reliable, enthusiastic, and committed.

I love all aspects of being in a band, gigging, writing songs, making music videos, writing press releases, sorting artwork, getting radio airplay, and promoting the music.

I'm mostly happy to do all of the above but it would be so nice to find some more musicians to collaborate with who also don't mind chipping in from time to time, or at least just being available and enthusiastic when called upon to help promote and 'spread the word!'.

Currently have a really exciting project in the works with a great guitar player and also a really unassuming musical wizard on bass - he also plays keys and guitar (we're sure he plays other things as well, but he's pretty quiet and doesn't tend to brag!).

Would love to hear from others who are of a similar constitution, not interested in flighty, or too cool for school people who are afraid to show that they are actually enjoying themselves. We love what we do and we want everyone involved to feel part of what we're doing, to have an input, and to be excited by it, is that unreasonable?

Currently looking for other musicians, possibly percussion, and maybe another instrument that we haven't even thought of!

My previous band released and recorded an EP, visited Abbey Road Studios to have it mastered, and gigged quite a bit around the midlands. We also had quite a bit of airplay on BBC Introducing (locally). Unfortunately, though the wheels eventually wore down to the rims, when my considerable enthusiasm was replaced by frustration at the lack of get up and go displayed by the other band members.

Lockdown gave me an opportunity to heal and rejuvenate but I'm now ready to go again.

Also interested in maybe doing one-off collaborations with other musicians, I love many different types of music. I love singing Jazz, Swing. I'd also be up for collaborating with rappers/producers & some dance or electronic music producers to create alternate versions or mixes of my songs - the possibilities are infinite!

Influences

The new band (Send A Raven) play a mixture of original material & select covers mainly: MOD, Northern Soul, Blues, Rock, etc. We're yet to gig at the moment, but are itching to do so soon. We have at least an album's worth of original songs pretty much ready to polish and go into the studio with.

We're looking to build a viable setlist to gig, which will be a mixture of more uptempo original songs and some cool covers by the likes of The Temptations, The Stones, Little Walter, Luther Ingram, Pokey LAfarge, The Stone Roses, Sam Cooke and, David Bowie to name but a few.

We're also looking to put out regular content across social media including videos for some of the above, but also some more laid-back folky material that we maybe wouldn't play at a pub gig.

All money earned gigging will go in a kitty to go towards covering the costs of recording and releasing our original material. The aim is to release across all digital platforms, maybe a small run of CD's and the dream would be to have the album on Vinyl as well.

We're also looking for other local bands to 'buddy up' with to gig together & support one another. Drop us a message on FB if you're interested.
